Three hands-on sessions to help you prepare for raising internationally

Funding Academy is designed for founders who want to sharpen their fundraising strategy and get investor-ready - without guessing what international investors actually expect.

Across three focused half-day sessions, you’ll work with experienced founders, investors, and legal and financial experts. You’ll get the tools and input to strengthen your investor story, prepare the right materials, and avoid common pitfalls.

Participation in the Funding Academy is open and free for all FGC members. You’ll also have the chance to join a separate FGC delegation to Slush, 18-20 November

(If you are not a member of FGC, you can join for DKK 4.000)

Session 1 – Oct 1: How to Get International Funding

- With founder and advisor Søren Nielsen

Start with a founder’s view of the international funding landscape - and what it takes to succeed beyond Denmark.

  • Build a structured investor pipeline
  • Use one-pagers to land meetings
  • Craft a strong pitch narrative and deck
  • Avoid common mistakes Nordic founders make when pitching abroad

Session 2 – Oct 22: Get Your Dataroom and Term Sheet Ready

- With experts from EY and Bech-Bruun

This session covers what international investors expect during due diligence - and the legal and financial traps founders often fall into.

  • What to include in your dataroom and how to prepare it
  • Overview of the five most common founder pitfalls in term sheets
  • How to maintain a healthy cap table - and why it matters to investors
  • What’s realistically possible when fixing cap table issues (e.g. secondaries, capital reductions)
  • Key terms to watch for - like liquidation preferences - that can create long-term challenges

We’ll also bring in examples from real cases, and Søren will share practical founder insights on what’s often overlooked.

Session 3 – Nov 12: Pitch and Get Feedback

- With experienced founders

This is where you put your work to the test. You’ll pitch in front of the group and get direct, structured feedback on your story, delivery, and materials.

  • Pitch live and get input on clarity, flow, and investor relevance
  • Hear from founders who’ve raised internationally - how the process differs and what they wish they’d known
  • Get insights into how investor expectations shift when you go beyond local markets
